Pastor Bertrain Bailey
Reverend Bailey is well known for his strong faith and the work he is doing in the Dallas, Texas community. He has impacted the lives of thousands of congregation members. For over 130 years, the Missionary Baptist Church has been known for its tradition of serving the church, family, and community. During his time at St. John, Rev. Bailey has proven an energetic and dynamic leader. His Spiritual initiatives have endeared him to current members and new members.
Rev. Bailey, a constituent of the Honorable Eddie Bernice Johnson had the honor of serving as the distinguished guest chaplain at the Opening Session of The House of Representatives in Washington D.C. on February 4, 2010 sharing his prayers, wisdom, faith, and his inspiration with her colleagues. It was their first time having a chaplain come serve from that great a distance and one that young. Rev. Bailey was humbled even more from the experience.
Reverend Bertrain “Choo Choo” Bailey has been preaching the “Good News” gospel for thirteen years. Rev. Bailey is CEO/President of Detour, a ministry that develops young men with single mothers into responsible, ethical, Christian men.
Rev. Bailey is a graduate of Tulsa, Central High School, He has earned a bachelors and masters degree from Dallas Baptist University and is currently completing course work towards a doctorate in Christian Education at Liberty University in Lynchberg, Virgina. Rev. Bailey has served as the keynote speaker at various revivals across the nation. Also, he has been the keynote speaker at numerous high school graduations, colleges and universities, various Baptist District Associations, and for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education and the National Baptist Convention, USA Incorporated. Rev. Bailey is married to the love of his life, Kim Bailey and has three beautiful daughters, Lauren, Lundyn, and L’oreal.
