Dr. Theron Williams

Dr. Theron D. WilliamsDr. Theron D. Williams was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  He is the 4th of eight siblings.  He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools System.  While pursuing a promising career in the sport of boxing the Lord called him to the Gospel Ministry.  Upon graduation from Highland Park Community College at the age of 20 he enrolled at Virginia Union University to study psychology and theology.  While a student at Virginia Union University he elected pastor of the Angel Visit Baptist Church in Dunnsville, Virginia where he served for 3 Years. In August of 1987 he was elected pastor of the Mt. Carmel Church of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Theron D. Williams has been the pastor of the Mt. Carmel Church for more than 20 years.  Under his leadership Mt. Carmel has grown from 200 to over 4,000.  He has led his congregation through three successful building programs including phase one of his most recent multiphase building program.

He has established over thirty four highly effective, life transforming ministries that benefit the church, immediate neighborhood and the entire city of Indianapolis.  Dr. Williams has shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the United States, Canada and in the Caribbean and is known as profound expositor of the Scriptures who delivers the Word with power and clarity. He is known for conducting workshops and delivering lectures on “Implementing Strategies for Retaining Church Members.”  He has also developed his recent exciting workshop and lecture series entitled, “Marketing Your Church for Growth: Evangelistic Methods for the 21 Century.”

Dr. Williams is a community leader and has earned awards for his civic and community activism.  He is the vice president of the Baptist Minister’s Alliance, NAACP, and a board member of the Mind Trust of Indianapolis.

Dr. Williams earned his Bachelor and Master degrees from Virginia Union University and the Virginia Union University School of Theology respectively.  He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from The Chicago Theological Seminary.

Dr. Williams is the author of three exciting books. His latest is “The Faith Challenge: 30 Days To Deeper Intimacy With God” also “Knowing the Peace of God” and “A Practical Strategy for Retaining Church Members” as well as contributed articles for various theological journals.

Dr. Williams is married to Kathy and they have two children.  They reside in Indianapolis.
